It was nominated for the best folk album at the 54th Grammy awards and featured on many end of year best album lists.

A perfect follow up to the bands debut album. ‘Helplessness Blues” offers more rich sounds and a bigger departure from the bands more traditional folkie roots. Although folk is still prevelant throughout the album, it hints on different sounds from across the world. Maybe not quite as good as “Fleet Foxes” album but it still has some excellent songs, not least of al the brilliant title track “Helplessness Blues”
